The owner of the Chrysler parked it on the street where he lives as he usually parks it. When he came out the next day for it he found it missing. This was in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, confines of the 52 precinct. He immediately called the police of the 52 precinct, when the police responded they took a written report. This information was then entered into the NYPD local crime computer, and also into NCIC computer which is the Federal computer for the United States. This entree automatically and seamlessly activated the LoJack® system in the stolen Chrysler.

A short while later the silent signal was picked up by officers of the 50 precinct NYPD, this was in the Bronx. They tracked the signal through various streets in the Bronx Lebanon Hospital section; eventually the signal led them to a residential area. The officers observed the vehicle on a residential street; the vehicle was apparently unoccupied so they decided to stake it out. After a short while when no one showed up for the vehicle they took it into custody. The vehicle was recovered without any damage.

The owner was contacted and he was elated that his vehicle was recovered so quickly especially without any damage. Stating that, he was happy that his vehicle was equipped with the LoJack system when he purchased it.
