The owners of a 2014 Melrose Bobcat contacted the Ontario Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from a work site location in the city of Ontario. Ontario Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Melrose.

A short time later, deputies from Riverside County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Melrose Bobcat with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the vehicle to the area of Interstate 15 off ramp to Interstate 60 in the city of Riverside.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Melrose Bobcat as a commercial install in May 2014.
