The owners of a 2000 Takeuchi Loader contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their construction site sometime during the overnight period. Houston Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the State and Federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Takeuchi loader.

A short while later officers from the San Antonio police department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen loader with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a construction site in San Antonio, TX. Officers observed the vehicle working on site and questioned the operator. Investigation revealed the owner of a subcontractor company claimed he had purchased the loader for an unknown person a few days prior. Officers arrested the subcontractor and filed felony theft charges. The loader was released to the commercial customer/owner at the construction site.
