LoJack System Helps Michigan State Police Recover Stolen Cadillac Escalade

The owners of a 2005 Cadillac Escalade contacted the Lansing Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen overnight without the keys.  Lansing Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Cadillac.

A short while later troopers from the Michigan State Police picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Cadillac with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the troopers) tracked the vehicle to parking lot in Lansing.  It appeared that the suspects had left it there to “cool off”.

Because of the quick recovery the suspects did not have enough time to strip the vehicle or use it to commit additional crimes.  The stolen Escalade was impounded and later returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Cadillac Escalade October 2004 at Lindsay Cadillac, Alexandria, VA.
