LoJack System Helps Aurora Police Department Recover Stolen GMC Sierra

The owner of a GMC Sierra pick up contacted the Denver Police Department to report that his truck had been stolen from his residence. A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine action automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the GMC.
The LoJack was immediately activated and within minutes the silent homing signals were being picked up by officers in several law enforcement jurisdictions; Aurora PD, Denver PD and Adams County.
Officers with the Aurora PD tracked the LoJack signals from the stolen GMC with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft and found the truck unoccupied near Smith Road and E-470.
The truck was recovered for return to the very happy owner before it could be damaged, stripped or used in another crime.
The LoJack® System was installed in the GMC Sierra at the request of this same owner in 2002 when he bought the truck from Mike Shaw Buick Saab in Denver.
LoJack is a one-time purchase with no annual subscription and therefore remains viable for the entire life of the vehicle it is installed on. In this case, 16 years later the LoJack turned on when needed, helped police recover it quickly and then automatically shut down when the theft report was canceled.
