LoJack System Helps the Dallas Police Dept Recover a Stolen Bobcat T750 Skid Steer Track Loader

The owners of a 2014 Bobcat T750 skid steer track loader contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The owners are a rental company. A customer rented this Bobcat and asked that it be dropped off at their job site. When the customer was finished with the Bobcat they contacted the rental company and told them to return to the job site to pick it up. When the rental company arrived they found the Bobcat missing. The GPS system they had been installed in the Bobcat had been taken out and thrown on the ground. The Dallas Police Dept verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Bobcat.
A short while later officers from the Dallas Police Dept picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Bobcat with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Bobcat to the 3400 block of E Illinois Ave where they found it parked behind an auto repair shop. The owner of the repair shop told offices that he was renting the space where the Bobcat was parked and that it was there when he showed up for work. This is an ongoing investigation with the repair shop owner trying to come up with the space renter’s name. The Bobcat was recovered in good condition.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Bobcat skid steer loader in September of 2014.
