LoJack System Helps Los Angeles Police Department Recover Stolen Chrysler 300, Three in Custody

The owners of a 2006 Chrysler 300 contacted the Los Angeles Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.  Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chrysler 300. A short while later officers from LAPD Northeast Division  picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chrysler 300 with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the area of Colorado Blvd and Eagle Rock Blvd where they spotted a Black Chrysler 300 matching the description.

The officers requested back up, air Support, and a supervisor as they followed the stolen Chrysler.  As the vehicle reached Adams Street, an attempt was made to stop the Chrysler.  The vehicle containing three occupants stopped just west of Adams where the Felony traffic stop was initiated.  Three subjects were detained without further incident.

Officers contacted the owner who related he had stopped at a service station for gas and had left the keys in the vehicle then observed a female wearing black enter and drive off. That female was identified at the the Northeast Division by the victim as the person who drove off with his vehicle. This suspect was arrested for the theft of the vehicle, a second suspect was also charged for the theft and the third was arrested for warrants.

The vehicle was released to the victim after being processed for evidence.

The LoJack® System was installed at Car Pros Chrysler in March 2006.
