LoJack System Helps South Pasadena Police Department Recover Stolen Chevrolet Converted Cab 4X2 Extension Pickup Truck, Suspect Arrested

The owners of a1999 Chevrolet Converted Cab 4X2 Extension Pickup truck contacted the Los Angeles Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.  Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet truck.

A short while later officers from South Pasadena Police picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet truck with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 1400 block of Huntington Drive and observed the stolen vehicle parked and occupied by a female driver.  With the help of assisting officers, the suspect was detained without further incident. When questioned, the suspect related she had borrowed the truck from her friend.  The suspect was arrested and booked for the theft of the vehicle.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Truck in April of 1999 at George Chevrolet in Los Angeles California.
