The owners of a 1999 Ford F-250 contacted the Cumberland Rhode Island Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.

The Cumberland Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later officers from both the Central Falls Police Department and the Pawtucket Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a residential apartment parking lot off Beechwood Street in Pawtucket and located and recovered the stolen Ford F-250.  In recovering the stolen vehicle, the officer also noticed another F-250 Ford pickup, a 2003 model, parked in the immediate vicinity.  A check of this other F-250 revealed it had also been reported stolen. Both vehicles were recovered.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 1999 Ford F-250 in December of 1998 at Dave Dinger Ford located in Braintree, MA.
