LoJack System Helps the Dallas Police Dept Recover a Stolen Honda Civic and Make Two Arrests

The owner of a 2009 Honda Civic contacted the Dallas Police Dept to report that his vehicle had been stolen.    The owner parked his vehicle in his driveway and when he returned to it found it missing.

The Dallas Police Dept verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later officers from the Dallas Police Dept picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Honda to the 5400 block of Fannie St where they observed it traveling northbound.  The officers were able to stop the stolen Honda and arrest the driver for driving a stolen vehicle and the passenger for possession of illegal drugs.  Officers found a Honda key in the ignition that was altered to fit this Honda’s ignition.  The Honda was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in October of 2008 at Vandergriff Honda in Arlington, TX.
