LoJack® System Helps Puyallup Police Department Recover a Chrysler 300 for Renton Police Department

The owner of this Chrysler 300 discovered his car had been stolen during the night from his residence located in the 17600 block of 109^th Ave SE, Renton Washington.  The theft was immediately reported to the Renton Police Department.  Renton Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chrysler 300.

That afternoon, a Puyallup Police Department Officer picked up the silent LoJack® signal from the stolen Chrysler 300 with the LoJack®  Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Utilizing the audible and visual signals of the PTC, the officer was able to navigate for several blocks to the 4200 block of 4^th St PL SW, Puyallup.  The officer then received a full strength signal both visually and audibly as the stolen Chrysler 300 drove directly past him. The officer could see the stolen vehicle was occupied by three suspects. The officer conducted a high risk felony stop and received back up from nearby officers. Two out of the three subjects were taken into custody and the driver admitted to knowing the vehicle was stolen.  Multiple illegal items were located including drugs, motor vehicle theft tools and burglary tools.

The Chrysler 300 was undamaged and returned to the very happy owner before it could be stripped, damaged or used in another crime.

The LoJack® System was installed by Lakewood Ford in July of 2008 when the vehicle was purchased.
