This 2015 Porsche Cayman was stolen by fraudulent means when a caretaker of a terminally ill person took two vehicles either during his illness or shortly after his death. When the family attempted to locate the vehicles they discovered the crimes. The thefts were immediately reported to the San Diego Sheriff’s Office who verified the report and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Porsche. The other car was not equipped with LoJack.

That same afternoon and 1,250 miles away, a Bellevue Police Department officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Porsche on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following directional and audible cues, the Porsche was located at a car dealership. The dealership provided documentation they purchased it from an auction in Anaheim, California. The auction received it from a dealership in California. The investigation is continuing.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Porsche Cayman in December 2014 at Porsche of San Diego in California.
