LoJack System Helps Washington State Patrol Recover a Stolen Nissan Sentra

This Nissan Sentra was stolen from a Park & Ride lot located in the 27000 block of 26th Avenue South in Kent while the owner was at work. When he returned to the lot and discovered his Nissan was stolen, he reported the crime to the Kent Police Department. The Kent PD verified the report and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan. The current owner was not aware the Nissan was equipped with LoJack.

Just ten minutes later, a Washington State Patrol trooper picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan on the Police Tracking Computer (PTC) installed in his patrol car. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, he tracked the Nissan to a large department store parking lot located at 19th and Mildred in Tacoma. A male driver was arrested and booked into jail. A male passenger in the Nissan was questioned by detectives and released. The investigation is continuing.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Sentra in June 2006 at Sprint Honda in El Monte, California.
