The owner of a 2016 Honda Accord called the Newark Police Department to report that her car had been stolen. She told police that she parked her Honda about 9 PM near her apartment in the City of Newark and when she returned at 6 AM the vehicle was gone.

The Newark PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Accord.

A short while later, officers from the Newark PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to Lyons Ave in the City of Newark, where the vehicle was recovered parked on the street abandoned.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2016 Honda Accord in March 2016 at Route 22 Honda in Hillside, New Jersey.
