The owner of a Toyota Corolla contacted the Tulsa Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner parked his Toyota in his apartment parking lot and when he returned to it he found it missing.

The Tulsa PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Later, officers from the Tulsa PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Toyota to an apartment complex, where they observed it parked. A suspect was sitting inside and was apprehended before he could exit the stolen Toyota. This suspect was in possession of illegal drugs and had an outstanding felony warrant. He was arrested. The Toyota was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Corolla in August 1999 at Keyes Toyota in Van Nuys, California.
