The owners of a 2015 Scion TC contacted the California Highway Patrol Moorpark area to report that their vehicle was stolen by unknown suspects. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Scion.

Two Suspects Arrested

A short while later deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department East Los Angeles station picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Scion with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the moving Scion and located it south on Fetterly Ave from Whittier Blvd. The deputies initiated a traffic stop at the 1019 block of Atlantic Blvd taking the male driver and female passenger into custody without further incident. The male driver told the deputies he had been picked up by the female passenger and was asked to drive as she was ill. The female admitted she had driven the Scion from San Bernardino and picked up her friend asking him to drive further. Both suspects were arrested and booked for the theft of the Scion. The Scion was stored and towed for safe keeping and later released to the victim, undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Scion TC in September 2015 at Marina Del Rey Toyota Scion in California.
