The owner of the 2013 Mazda MZ3 called the San Antonio Police Department and reported his vehicle was just stolen from the parking lot where he had parked earlier in the day.  The San Antonio PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mazda.

Less than thirty (30) minutes later officers from the San Antonio PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mazda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mazda to the area of 8500 Jones Maltsberger Road where they observed the Mazda in the parking lot of a large retail outlet store. The officers observed the stolen Mazda parked in the parking lot with one male suspect removing the Texas license plates from another Mazda. The suspect was arrested without incident. The suspect was found to be a wanted parole violator for felony theft. Subject was incarcerated for felony theft and several parole violations.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mazda MZ3 in September 2013 at Jeff Haas Mazda in Houston, Texas.
