LoJack Enables Quick Recovery of Yamaha Motorcycle Stolen in Chula Vista

When the owner of a 2009 Yamaha YZF-R6 motorcycle discovered that his bike had been stolen he reported the theft to the Chula Vista Police Department. It was the police department’s routine entry of the Yamaha’s information into the nationwide law enforcement stolen vehicle computer system that automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle. Neither the owner nor law enforcement agents had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Vehicle Recovery Network, as LoJack’s interface with the police is seamless and instantaneous.
Less than two hours later, San Diego Police ground units began to pick up the Yamaha’s silent homing signal on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) installed in their patrol car. Following the directional cues on the PTC, the officers quickly recovered the motorcycle, abandoned and undamaged, in the 3200 block of Berger Street in San Diego.
The current owner was happy that his Yamaha Motorcycle had been installed with a LoJack Vehicle Recovery System 18 months earlier. He was happier still when the police called him to pick up his motorcycle, and he was able to drive it home.
