The owner of a 2010 Mercedes Benz E630 contacted the Chula Vista Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Chula Vista.

The Chula Vista PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

At a later time, officers from the Chula Vista PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mercedes to a commercial parking lot located in the 1300 block of East Lake Parkway in the city of Chula Vista.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes Benz E630 in November 2009 at Mercedes Benz of San Diego in California.
