The owner of a 1996 Acura Integra contacted the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The victim advised their Acura had been taken from in front of their residence in the 2500 block of Clear Springs Court in the unincorporated area of Castro Valley.

The Alameda County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Acura Integra.

A short while later officers from the California Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Acura Integra with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Acura to the residential area of Secret Meadows Drive at Salvia Drive where the vehicle was found abandoned, parked at the curb. The recovery location was just a short distance from the theft location.

The Acura was recovered by the CHP and was towed/stored to be released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Acura Integra in October 1996 at Keyes Acura in Van Nuys, California.
