The owner of a 2009 Toyota Tacoma contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Imperial Beach.

The San Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Within 10 minutes, deputies from the San Diego County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the deputies tracked the Toyota to the 1500 block of Lonian Street in the city of Imperial Beach.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Tacoma in March 2009 at Bob Baker Toyota in Lemon Grove, California.
