The owner of a Nissan Murano contacted the California Highway Patrol to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

The CHP verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Within 10 minutes, deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the deputies tracked the Nissan to the 10000 block of Mission Gorge Road in the city of Santee. A traffic stop was made and one suspect was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Murano in June 2006 at Mercedes Benz of San Diego in California.
