LoJack System Helps Grand Prairie Police Department Recover a Stolen Audi A8

The owner of a 2008 Audi A8 contacted the Grand Prairie Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner went out of town and left his Audi parked at his business.  When he returned, he found his Audi missing.

The Grand Prairie PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Audi.

Later, officers from the Grand Prairie PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Audi with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers tracked the stolen Audi and observed it traveling northbound in the 3800 block of S Beltline Rd.  Officers attempted to stop the stolen Audi the two suspects inside stopped, jumped out of it and fled on foot.  They were not apprehended.  The Audi was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Audi A8 in October 2012 at Audi Mission Viejo in California.
