The owner of a 2013 BMW 740 contacted the Cobb County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen during the day while he was at work.

The Cobb County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.

A short while later a Georgia State Police patrol officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.

By following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the trooper tracked the BMW to an apartment complex with no one around it. A detective was called to the scene for further investigation and possible arrest.

The BMW was towed to a local towing service until the owner could be notified of the recovery.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW 740 in December 2013 at Nalley BMW in Marietta, Georgia.
