GMC Yukon Stolen in Home Burglary — Recovered, Thief Arrested After Robbing Pizza Delivery Man

In the early hours of April 30, 2012, an off-duty police officer contacted the Stockton Police Department to report that his residence had been burglarized and his 2003 GMC Yukon stolen. A witness recognized the suspect. Stockton Police completed the theft report, and had the Yukon’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle, prompting the system to begin emitting a silent homing signal. Neither the owners nor law enforcement agents had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Vehicle Recovery Network, because LoJack’s interface with the police is both seamless and instantaneous.
As Stockton Police departed from the scene of the crime, the police dispatch radio alerted them that San Joaquin Sheriff’s deputies were already tracking the now-activated LoJack in the stolen Yulon.
Following the directional cues on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their police cars, the deputies quickly located the Yukon in a residential area in south Stockton. The vehicle was parked and abandoned. The victim was contacted, and because the thieves had his only set of keys, the vehicle was towed back to his residence.
The named suspect was arrested later that day after robbing a pizza delivery driver. The suspect was arrested for the burglary, auto theft and the robbery.
