The owner of this Scion XB contacted the Kern County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from in front of their residence during the night. The Kern County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Scion.

About 1 hour after the LoJack® System was activated, a deputy with the Kern County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Scion with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputy tracked the Scion to a residential area near Mt Vernon and Niles Avenues in Bakersfield. The deputy found the Scion abandoned and unoccupied parked in a residential neighborhood. The owner of the Scion responded to the location and took possession of the vehicle; it was intact and undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in this Scion XB in March 2006 by Claremont Toyota in California.
