The owner of an Acura Integra contacted the Fontana Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Fontana.

The Fontana PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Acura.

At a later time, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Acura with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Acura to a residence in the 400 block of Bain Street in Jurupa Valley.  The Riverside County Auto Theft Interdiction Detail Investigators responded to the scene and went to the suspect’s residence who was on probation.  Other Riverside County SD deputies also responded after the investigation revealed that other suspects were considered armed and dangerous were in the residence. As they approached the residence several suspects attempted to flee through the back yard but all five were arrested. Several weapons were recovered including two revolvers, three semi-automatics and several rounds of ammunition. The suspects were charged for vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, shaved vehicle keys, ammunition, firearms, felons with firearms and violation of parole and probation.

Also recovered was a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado, two engines belonging to a stolen 1992 and 1997 Honda Civic all reported stolen to Riverside County Sheriff’s in 2015.

The Acura Integra was previously stolen in 2015 with the San Bernardino County Sherriff’s, tracked and recovered with the LoJack® System.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Acura Integra in May 1999 at Acura of Boston in Massachusetts
