The owner of the Honda CBR600 motorcycle parked it by his house where he normally parks it.  This was in the Navy Yard section of Brooklyn, confines of the 88 precinct. When he came out for the Honda the next day he found it missing.  He immediately called the New York Police Department of the 88 precinct to report the theft.

When the NYPD arrived they took a written report for the theft.  This information was then entered by the NYPD in the city, state and federal crime computer which automatically activated the LoJack® System in the stolen Honda.

A short while later the silent LoJack signal was picked up by the 108 precinct police officers on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer in their vehicle. This was in the Maspeth section of Queens, confines of the 108 precinct. They tracked the signal to a commercial section of Maspeth; there they found the bike parked on the sidewalk covered by a tarp. They decided to stake the bike out, after short while they took the bike into custody. The bike was recovered in good condition, with minor damage to the ignition, other than that it was in good condition.

The owner was contacted and he was elated that his bike was recovered so quickly, especially with such minor damage. He further stated that he was happy that when he bought the bike it was equipped with the LoJack® System because he knew that if it wasn’t for LoJack the bike may never have been recovered at all.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2008 Honda CBR600 in March 2008 at Cycle World in Bronx, New York.
