The owner of a 2008 Honda Element contacted the San Pablo Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The victim advised their Honda had been taken from the street in the 3000 block of Giant Rd.

The San Pablo PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Element.

A short while later officers from the California Highway Patrol Air Operations Unit picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to the area of 3043 Research Dr in the city of Richmond. The air unit directed in Richmond Police Department ground units who located the Honda parked and abandoned.

The Honda was towed to be released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Element in September 2007 at Honda of Oakland in California.
