Anaheim Police Recover Can-Am Spyder 3-Wheeler Stolen in Los Angeles

On April 18, 2012, the owners of a 2008 Can-Am Spyder reported their three-wheeler stolen to the Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Division officers. The victim named a possible suspect, and the responding LAPD officer completed a stolen vehicle report and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computer systems. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed within the three-wheeler. Neither the owner nor police had to take any further action to activate the LoJack tracking system, as LoJack’s interface with law enforcement is both seamless and instantaneous.
Less than two hours later, officers from the Anaheim Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the computer’s directional signals, the officers tracked the Spyder to an apartment complex in the 2400 block of Ball Road. There, the officers located the vehicle, parked at the rear of the lot. Officers decided to stake out the location; within three hours, the officers spoke with a male suspect who provided some important information to the police. This information was forwarded to LAPD detectives. The undamaged Can-Am was recovered and stored for safekeeping until it could be returned to the owner.
The owners of this Can-Am Spyder had the LoJack Vehicle Recovery System installed at Del Amo Motor Sports in April 2008.
