The owners of a Nissan Sentra contacted the Salt Lake City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.   A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

A short while later officers with the Salt Lake City PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers tracked the Nissan to the area of 500 West and 200 South where the vehicle was found to be unoccupied.  The Nissan appeared to be undamaged and was secured for the return to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Sentra in May 2001 at Glendale Nissan in California.
