The owner of a 2015 Subaru Impreza contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their home in the area of 5100 Crescent Avenue in Baltimore City, Maryland. The Baltimore City PD Radio dispatched an officer from the 8th District to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the Subaru. When the officer was unable to locate the Subaru, a stolen vehicle report was prepared. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Subaru Impreza.
A short while later, officers from the Baltimore City PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Subaru Impreza with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopters. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Subaru to the area of 1800 Poplar Grove Street in Baltimore City. At this location, officers observed the Subaru parked, undamaged and unoccupied, apparently abandoned. The Subaru was recovered by police and the owner notified.
The LoJack® System was installed in the 2015 Subaru Impreza in April 2015 at Russell Subaru in Baltimore, Maryland.
