When the owner of this Ford Focus discovered the theft of his car in Longview, he immediately reported it to the Longview Police Department who verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short time later, a Washougal Police Department officer received the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. A Clark County deputy and Washington State Patrol troopers joined the tracking effort. Following directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Ford was located abandoned in a hospital parking lot in Hazel Dell, north of Vancouver. It did not appear to be damaged.

The suspect in the theft is known by the owner. Investigation is continuing.
The LoJack® System was installed in this Ford Focus in October 2008 at Spradley Barickman Ford in Pueblo, Colorado.
