The owner of a 2014 Chrysler Town & Country minivan contacted the Virginia Beach Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from in front of their home in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The Virginia Beach PD Radio dispatched an officer to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the Chrysler. When the officer was unable to locate the Chrysler, a stolen vehicle report was prepared. Investigation by the officer on scene determined that the keys had been used to take this Chrysler. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chrysler.

A short while later detectives from the Norfolk Police Department auto theft unit picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chrysler with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives tracked the Chrysler to the 1000 block London Boulevard in Portsmouth, Virginia. At that location, detectives observed the Chrysler parked and unoccupied. The location is a motel and detectives were able to identify the theft suspects and place both under arrest. The Chrysler was then recovered by police.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country in March 2016 at CarMax 7130 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
