LoJack® System Helps Baltimore City Police Department Recover Stolen Honda Accord

The owner of a 2002 Honda Accord contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the area of 200 Edgewood Street in Baltimore City, Maryland. The Baltimore City PD Radio dispatched an officer to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the subject vehicle. When the officer was unable to locate the vehicle, a stolen vehicle report was prepared. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.
A short while later, officers from the Baltimore City PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopters. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to the area of 500 Hilton Parkway in the southwest area of Baltimore City. At this location, officers observed the Honda being operated by the theft suspect. Officers conducted a felony vehicle stop and placed the operator under arrest for the stolen auto. The undamaged Honda was then recovered by police and the owner notified.
The LoJack® System was installed in the 2002 Honda Accord in October 2001 at Anderson Honda in Cockeysville, Maryland.
