The owner of the BMW 328I parked his vehicle by his house where he normally parks it. When he came out for it the next morning he found it missing. This was in the Boston section of Massachusetts and he immediately called the Boston Police Department.

When the Boston PD officers arrived, they took a written report for the stolen BMW.  This information was then entered by Boston PD in the city, state and federal crime computer which automatically activated the LoJack® System in the stolen BMW.

A short while later the silent signal was picked up on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer by members of the New York Police Department Bronx Auto Larceny Unit. This was in the Soundview section of the Bronx, confines of the 43 Precinct. The BMW was tracked to a residential section of Soundview and located parked in the residential area. The officers staked the BMW out for several hours; however when no one showed up for the vehicle the police took it into custody. The BMW was recovered in good condition with minor ignition damage.

The owner was contacted and he was elated that his BMW was recovered so quickly, saying that he was extremely grateful that the vehicle was equipped with the LoJack unit when he purchased it.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2011 BMW 328I in June 2014 at BMW of Warwick in Rhode Island.
