LoJack® System Helps Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Recover Stolen Land Rover Range Rover

The owner of a 2006 Land Rover Range Rover contacted the Blythe Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Blythe.

The Blythe PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Land Rover.

A short while later, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Land Rover with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Land Rover to a casino parking lot in the city of San Jacinto. After reviewing camera video, the deputies were able to identify the two suspects that drove the Land Rover to that location. Both were taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Land Rover Range Rover in February 2008 at Land Rover Encino in California.
