The owner of the Honda Pilot parked his SUV by his house where he normally parks it. When he came out for it the next morning he found it missing. This was in the Jamaica Queens confines of the 103 precinct. He immediately called the New York Police Department of the 103precinct.

When the NYPD officers arrived, they took a written report for the stolen Pilot.  This information was then entered by the NYPD in the city, state, and federal crime computer which automatically activated the LoJack® System in the stolen Honda Pilot. However after an investigation it was discovered that his elderly father, who has dementia, was missing so there was the possibility that the Honda was taken by the father.

A short while later the silent signal was picked up on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer by members of the 112 precinct. This was in the Elmhurst section of Queens, confines of the 112 precinct. The Honda was tracked to a residential section of Elmhurst. The Honda was located parked in the residential area. The officers contacted the detectives from the 103 precinct to notify them of the Honda’s location.  Although the Honda was unoccupied the detectives were quite happy that the vehicle was located.  This gave them a starting point where to look for the missing elderly man. The Honda was recovered in good condition with no damage.

The owner was contacted and he was elated that his Honda was recovered so quickly, feeling that his elderly father would not be far away. He further stated that he was extremely happy that when he purchased the Honda it was equipped with the LoJack® System.  Further stating that if it wasn’t for the LoJack® System the Honda may never have been recovered.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2006 Honda Pilot in June 2006 at Hillside Honda in Jamaica, Queens, New York.
