The owners of a 2006 Toyota Tacoma contacted the Riverside Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen in the city of Riverside.

The Riverside PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Within 6 minutes, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Toyota the area of East Bound Interstate 60 and County Village. A high risk traffic stop was initiated at Cartwright Blvd; one suspect was taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Tacoma in October 2006 at Toyota of Riverside in California.
