LoJack® System Helps Albuquerque Police Department Recover a Stolen Honda Accord

The owner of a 1996 Honda Accord called the Albuquerque Police Department in the early morning hours to report their vehicle was stolen. The owner advised the Honda was stolen from their residence located in the Southeast Area Command.
The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.
Within a short time after the activation, an officer with the Albuquerque Police Department was heading home, after working a graveyard shift, picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the audible and directional cues from the PTC, the Honda was tracked to the area of 12th Street and Menaul in the Valley Area Command. Officers recovered the Honda parked in an apartment complex parking lot and found it unoccupied.
Officers had the Honda processed for evidence and will be released back to the owner.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in July 1996 at VIP Honda in North Plainfield, New Jersey.
