The owner of a 1999 Lexus contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner drove up to Las Vegas, from California, with two “friends.” The owner went to sleep at the hotel and when he awoke, his two friends, wallet, keys, phone and car were gone.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

Thirty Two minutes later, patrol officers from the Rialto Police Department, California, picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Lexus to the area of the 130 block of North Rancho Ave, in the City of Colton. The officers requested back up units and conducted a felony traffic stop, taking two suspects into custody for auto theft related charges without incident. This is the second time that this Lexus has been reported stolen, tracked by police and recovered with the assistance of LoJack.
The Lexus was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus in February 1999 at Lexus of Riverside in California.
