LoJack® System Helps the Dallas Police Department Recover a Stolen Chevrolet Camaro

The owner of a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner parked his Camaro in the parking lot next to his business and when he returned to it, found his vehicle missing. The owner reviewed the parking lot video which showed a suspect in a tow truck stealing his Camaro.
The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Camaro.
Later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Camaro with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Camaro to the 7900 block of Hull St where they found it parked in the driveway of a house. The homeowner stated that the suspect had towed the Camaro to his house and asked if he could leave it in his driveway. The homeowner identified the suspect and an arrest warrant is pending.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Camaro in August 2011 at Selman Chevrolet in Orange, California.
