LoJack® System Helps Houston Police Department Recover Stolen 2003 Dodge Caravan

The owners of a 2003 Dodge Caravan contacted the Pasadena Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residence sometime around midnight.
The Pasadena PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge van.
Later a Houston Police Department officer, K-9 unit, picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Dodge to the 5600 block of the Eastex Freeway when it was observed parked at a convenience store near Gregg St. Officers called for another unit to check by. While waiting for the second unit to arrive officers observed two subjects enter the Dodge and drove away. Officers followed the Dodge and activated their emergency equipment to make a traffic stop of the vehicle, which immediately began to speed away. After a brief chase the Dodge pulled over and the two subjects ran on foot. One subject was apprehended at the scene while the other was tracked and apprehended by the K-9 and his partner at a private residence nearby. Both subjects were arrested and taken downtown where numerous felony charges were filed.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge Caravan in June 2004 at Clear Lake Dodge in Houston, Texas.
