This Kia Sportage SUV was stolen during the daylight hours from the 1800 block of SW 18th Avenue in Portland. When the theft was discovered it was reported to the Portland Police Bureau who verified the report and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Kia.

That same afternoon, the Portland PB officers picked up the silent LoJack signal from the Kia with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, they tracked the Kia to Northwest Raleigh and 18th Avenue where it was located abandoned and undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in this Kia Sportage in October 2007 at Dale Spradley Motors in Pueblo, Colorado.
