LoJack® System Helps Pinole Police Department Recover Stolen Land Rover Range Rover

The owners of a 2010 Land Rover contacted the Los Angeles Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim returned from shopping and discovered her Land Rover was stolen from the mall parking lot.
The LAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Land Rover.
Just hours later and 500 miles to the north, officers from the Pinole Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Land Rover with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Land Rover to the 2900 block of Oxnard Street in Pinole, California. The Land Rover was parked and abandoned in a parking lot at that location. The officers impounded the Land Rover for safe keeping to be released to the owner later.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Land Rover in January 2010 at Hornburg Jaguar in West Hollywood, California.
