The owner of a Toyota Corolla contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner parked his Toyota in his driveway and when he returned to it, he found it missing.

The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Toyota to a house in the 1300 block of Olden and found it parked in the driveway.  The stolen Toyota had been spray painted black and the license tags had been changed.  The owner of the house came to the front door and was arrested.  He stated that his brother stole the Toyota.  This is an ongoing investigation.  The ignition to Toyota was damaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Corolla in August 2001 at Don McGill Toyota in Houston, Texas.
