The owner of a Lexus 430 contacted the Paterson Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen from his driveway in the City of Paterson.

The Paterson PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus 430.

A short while later, officers from the East Rutherford Police Department and the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Lexus, with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Lexus to Passaic Street in the City of Passaic, where the vehicle was observed being operated north bound on Passaic Street. The officers pulled the Lexus over and the three suspects in the vehicle were taken into custody. The Lexus was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus 430 in January 2002 at Lexus of Alexandria in Virginia.
