LoJack® System Helps New York Police Department Recover a Stolen 2010 Subaru Outback

The owner of the Subaru Outback parked his car where he normally parks it by his house. When he went out in the morning he found it missing. This was in the Bayside section of Queens; in the confines of the 111 precinct. He then immediately called the New York Police Department.
An officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Subaru.
A short while later, the silent signal was picked up on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer that the police have in their vehicles. This was in the Ozone Park section of Queens, confines of the 106th precinct. The signal was tracked to a residential section of Ozone Park. The Subaru was apparently moving, with the officers tracking the vehicle until they eventually caught up with it. When they attempted to pull the Subaru over it fled with the officers from the Queens South Auto Larceny Unit following. The suspect drove up on a sidewalk and fled on foot through the back yards evading capture by the police. However evidence developed by the police led to his identity, which will eventually lead to an imminent arrest.
The owner was contacted and he was elated that his Subaru was recovered so quickly, especially in good condition. He further stated that he was happy that when he purchased the Subaru, he also purchased the LoJack® System, saying it was well worth the money he spent for it.
The LoJack® System was installed in the 2010 Subaru Outback in September 2009 at Star Nissan in Bayside, New York.
