The owners of a 2015 Toyota Prius contacted the DeKalb County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a shopping area while they were at a movie. The only hope of getting the Toyota back was that when they bought the car new a LoJack® System had been installed by the dealership.

The DeKalb County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later the DeKalb County PD helicopter equipped with an onboard LoJack Police Tracking Computer began to track the stolen Toyota.  With assistance from the units on the ground the helicopter was able to track the stolen car to a shopping area where the Toyota was spotted with two people inside.

The officers transported the driver to the city jail on theft charges of the Toyota and it was returned to the owner in excellent condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Hybrid in August 2014 at Roseville Toyota in California.
