The owners of a Chevrolet extended cab S-10 contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report their vehicle was stolen in the city of Vista.

The San Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

A while later deputies from the San Diego County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet S-10 with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Chevrolet to the 4000 block of Hillway Drive in the city of Vista.  Two suspects were arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet S-10 in December 2002 at Singh Chevrolet in Riverside, California.
